NFL Top Picks - Week 5…

This weeks NFL showdowns should be explosive. Who knew the Buffalo Bills would have a chance to go 5-0, pending their win versus the Cardinals this Sunday. My top 6 picks this week consist of Buffalo over Arizona, the Bears over the Lions, Chargers over Miami, Colts over the Texans, and the 2 bye teams last week; Patriots over the 49er’s, and the Super Bowl defending Giants over Seattle.

Yankees Stadium…

As I sit in the right field middle deck bleachers, I couldn’t help but embrace a part of history that many others in the past could not have seen. Overlooking the left field walls, one can see the new stadium that will house the Yankees for the years to come. Energy can simply be defined as, “9 innings inside Yankees Stadium.” For the past 85 years, thousands of fans had sat in the very same seat as I that Sunday afternoon and no words could describe the experience inside that stadium…

Yankees out play the Angels…

YankeesWhat a day at the ball park! After visiting New York City this weekend, I took a trip up to the Bronx to see the Bombers play once last time in the old Yankees Stadium. The weather was excellent and the players were phenominal. Thru some Angel errors in the 8th inning and Xavier Nady’s near “cycle” performance; the Yankees took game 4 to split the series with the Angels and prepare themselves for the road ahead; being a grulling 2 week - 16 game road trip.

Players Championship at Sawgrass ‘08…

TPC at SawgrassThe Players Championship was held at infamous Sawgrass. The picture to your left illustrates one of the most intimidating holes on the course. The Par-3 17th leaves little room for error; although it was marked Sunday at a 128 yards, players fought strong Atlantic winds off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida and the obvious obstacle of a water surrounded green.

Personally I was pulling for Paul Goydos to win, yet Sergio Garcia finished strong to take the lead and the championship. Respect for Sergio, as a professional golfer, has diminished after viewing him spit inside the hole after missing a put at the WGC tournament in 2007. It is blatently clear that he has litte respect for the course, the players, and the game. You-tube Video

World Golf Tour…

World Golf TourOnline golf games have been around for years now and next in line is the World Golf Tour. As players we will now be able to experience prestige golf courses all around the world. Currently the game is offering a demo version with a ‘closest to the pin’ competition with other registered players.

The World Golf Tour is traveling around the world taking high resolution shots of every square inch of landscape. They estimated roughly $200,000 to shoot an entirety of a single course; taking close to one year to complete. They believe to have the full release of the game out this year; filled with money tournaments, free drawings, and online tee-times with your friends. All I have to say is Thank-you! Work productivity may decrease a little bit, but it will be nice to vizualize hiting a bunker shot out of the 16th hole at Augusta.

Registration is free and so are the current prizes; this month being a New Taylor Made Driver. Visit www.worldgolftour.com and check it out for yourself.

Warning: Don’t plan on doing anything else for the rest of the day!

Tiger Woods wins Fedex Cup…

Tiger Woods - FedEx Champion     How does Tiger Woods keeping dominating the field throughout the PGA? Is it the bucket of balls that he hits every sunrise? Is it the persitantance of his short game strategy; or can we start turning to the man who always stands roughly a few yards behind Tiger, known as his caddy, Steve Williams. Golf is a game of consitancy and patience, and like business, it is essential to have second opinion; allowing yourself to decide the best solution to overcome obstacles from the marketplace to the sloping greens of a golf course.

Tiger Woods walks away Sunday September 16th, 2007 with the First Annual Fedex Cup; resulting in a purse prize for first place over $10 million.

The First Tee

The non-for-profit organization “The First Tee” has recently caught my attention. After hitting a bucket of balls at Genesee Valley Golf Course; I came across “The First Tee” logo attached to the pro shop. I believe its great to see and hear young kids getting excited about golf. From what I have read off the “The First Tee” site, is that they are teaching children more of life’s lessons through the great sport of golf. I have always believed that the way you handle yourself on the golf course reflects how you handle yourself in life; and what better way to guide children towards a well balanced life than through golf.

The Masters

Zach Thomas defeats Tiger at Augusta!

The young Zack Johnson comes out on top at the 2007 Masters Tournament which hopefully came number two in his eyes; considering he also was blessed with a newborn baby boy; and perhaps in a close third place with turning the big 30 back in Febrauary. So who else would like to be known as a Masters Champion? If the title doesn’t do it for you, perhaps the lifetime acceptance to the PGA, or the even the prestige of the membership inside Augusta along with its professional taliored green jacket.

We’ll see how the putter treats me this season. My goal is to visit the range atleast an hour a day, as a I did last year; in return took many strokes off my game. There will be a score tally this year, so check back.
