Global Warming is a major issue, whether or not people know about it. As a world we need to step up and get global warming under control. Global warming is when “Green House Gases” are released and they get trapped in our atmosphere, they make a blanket around it. Then when the suns rays come in and reflect off the earth and tries to escape, it becomes much harder for it to escape because of that blanket around our atmosphere. Which in effect causes global warming, there are many different ways in which global warming is affecting our lives today. One is our polar ice caps; scientists believe that in time if we continue the path that we are on, they will melt completely. This means a couple of different things, first is our sea levels. They will rise, and many coasts of countries would be either under water or flooded horribly . . .

Another effect of global warmingthat most people put on the back burner is animals that live on or near the polar ice caps. These animals include polar bears, artic wolves, seals and penguins are close to becoming endangered. A great example of how global warming is affecting animals is the impact on the Adelie penguin. This certain type of penguin has taken a hit to its population. In the last 30 years 33% of its population has died of because of global warming.

If we don’t do something soon, these precious animals will become extinct. Now your asking what can we do to get it under control, there different things you can do. Buying Hybrid cars is a way you can help if you’re in the market of buying a new car. Hybrid cars produce less C02 emissions into our environment. Another way you could help is cutting down on the use of gases. Don’t go out every single night to get one of two things from one store, try to limit your trips in your car to help the problem of pollution. Another is the use of electricity; by buying energy efficient light bulbs through out your house, you can save both the world and money in your wallet.

There are a few ways our world is contributing towards the issues of global warming and it is by finding alternate sources of energy; from solar to geothermal energy. Geothermal energy is the means of tapping into our fiery core for energy. Global warming is a huge concern and is going to do major damage to our world if we don’t anything about it. Not only will it effect our generations now, but it’s going to effect the generations yet to come.
